The Space
Having recently undergone a full renovation, our primary goal was to create a “home-away-from-home” experience. We wanted to avoid the impersonal feel often associated with holiday homes. Instead, we focused on crafting a relaxed and inviting atmosphere, complete with all the essentials and comforts you’d expect in your own home. You’ll find amenities such as Sky TV, a hairdryer, shampoo and body wash, along with a fully equipped kitchen featuring tools like mixing bowls and potato peelers. When we first acquired the property, it was clear the space wasn’t being used to its full potential, particularly with only one bedroom. Our initial task was to remove the outdated kitchen, transforming that area into a spacious master bedroom. The new kitchen was seamlessly integrated into the living area, where we maximized space by adding a breakfast bar for dining and mounting the TV on the wall to free up floor space. The final phase of the renovation was remodelling the bathroom. We chose a sleek marble finish and lowered the ceiling to install spotlights, creating a warm and bright ambiance. Getting Around
Reaching the Isle of Bute is simple and stress-free. The island is well-connected via a regular ferry service from Wemyss Bay on the Clyde coast. Wemyss Bay also has a railway station with frequent trains to and from Glasgow, making it a seamless journey whether you’re travelling by car or as a foot passenger. The CalMac ferry takes around 35 minutes and offers a comfortable crossing with stunning coastal views. It accommodates both vehicles and foot passengers, and docks right in the heart of Rothesay, Bute’s main town. Once you arrive, getting around is easy. Rothesay is very walkable, and taxis are readily available just outside the ferry terminal. The island is also served by a reliable public bus network, making it convenient to explore Bute without a car. For those who enjoy a more active pace, cycling is a popular and rewarding way to see the island’s beautiful scenery. The apartment is ideally located, with a bus stop just round the corner offering regular services around the island.
